Rural Practices

Residents living on larger lots or acreages in rural northwest Iowa have a unique opportunity to enhance the wildlife habitat in their area and reduce their energy costs. This can be done in a variety of ways, including windbreaks, prairie plantings and wetland buffers. Landowners who choose to establish or attract habitat on their property greatly increase their changes of pheasant and other wildlife permanently settling on their land.
